A member asked:

What would you say to persuade a 14 year old to stop trying cigarettes?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

That's a tough one.: 14 year olds can be as responsive as a piece of stone when they don't want to listen. Try everything; try finding non-smoking role models. Try having your doctor talk to him. Give him things to read. Most importantly, model good, healthy behavior and don't smoke yourself. An adult who smokes but says not to smoke can expect not to be listened to.
