Turning the palm up.: When you turn your palm up to the sky, that is supination. Think of holding a cup of soup (supination).

A position: Of the foot. There are 3 cardinal planes that the foot can move in when supinating. It can adduct, plantarflex and invert when supinating. It is the opposite of pronation which has the opposite motions of abduction, dorsiflexing and everting. (other body parts might supinate - this is the podiatric version.).
