Yes to some extent.: Lupus is an autoimmune disease with many features, can suggest many other diagnoses. Most patients can be successfully treated, and many patients have mild disease. Certain heriditary factors can potentiate a greater likelood of disease, including complement protein deficiencies (c2 and c4), hla-types, such as b8, but it is not as strongly hereditable as many other autoimmune diseases.
