Heredity is present: Heredity is present in some but not all. We look at the genetics but also environmental exposure and infections like viruses. In most people with lupus we can not find a specific reason. In some we find a medication that can cause another type of lupus drug induced lupus. A rheumatologist evaluation is important but we can not always find an answer
