Reflux: Reflux of stomach contents (acid) is usually due to incompetent valve or hiatal hernia. It is aggravated by position (lying down), spicy foods and obesity. Treatment includes mediating above factors. Ginger and antacids can help. Then is meds like ppi which shut off acid. If meds fail, then surgery including fundoplication can help - usually has very good outcomes. Speak to your physician.
