Diagnosis: First, make sure the diagnosis is correct. The treatment choices depend on the cause of the hyperparthyroidism. If it was due to low vitamin d or low calcium, replacing them will correct the hyperparathyroidism. If it's due to a growth on your parathyroid, then surgery is the cure. If surgery is not an option, there is a pill that can also be used. Again, you need to know what type you have.
