What is the normal treatment when you have a cross bite?

Braces: Depending upon where the cross bite is in your mouth and how severe it is the treatment could range from a simple re-equilibration of your teeth (grinding on selective teeth in order to make your bite more even) to full orthodontic (braces) . Most patients would require braces to correct this problem.

Orthodontics: Orthodontic treatment is used to correct tooth discrepencies. Depending on the severity of the cross bite, invisable aligners or braces (brackets) can be used to treat.

Depends on cause: If cross bite is because of skeletal imbalance, most often the rx is to widen upper jaw. If cross bite is because of dental mal-positions, most often rx requires tooth movement. As no two cross bites are exactly alike, see a qualified orthodontic specialist for evaluation and treatment recommendations tailored to your needs.
