No: First look to see where the bleeding is coming from. If it is coming from the gum tissue then the bleeding could be from irritated gingival tissue due to the clamp that was used to hold the rubber dam. If it is coming from the tooth then the tooth may be fractured.

No: If the root canal is completed there should not be any bleeding from the tooth. But it is possible for the gums to be bleeding at injection site. In any case it is better to call your dentist if the bleeding continues for more than 30 minutes.

Probably normal: It depends on where the bleeding is coming from. Bleeding of gums around that tooth is totally normal. Bleeding that is coming from inside the tooth is not normal if your doctor has told you that the root canal is finished. If that is the case, you need to go back to your doctor to check it out.

Normal : Sometimes the bleeding can be from the gums because of the rubber dam clamp that goes around the tooth during the root canal procedure. The gums might be sore for 2-3 days but should stop bleeding after the first day. Other causes of bleeding could be from the tooth itself if the root canal was not completed in one visit. If there was a large infection, then the tooth may be left open to drain.

Minor gum bleeding: The dentist uses a rubber dam to isolate the tooth. The dam is clamped around the tooth and can sometimes pinch the gum a bit which will cause slight bleeding and soreness. Occasionally, they will leave an advanced infection in a tooth open to drain, but rarely done. So, slight bleeding that day is ok. Prolonged tomorrow, i'd call my dentist.

Not normal: Root canals should not bleed. If a tooth is opened prior to having a root canal, that is a different question. Normally an open tooth can bleed for a few days as an infection is vented or a pulp removed. If your tooth is bleeding from the crown , seek dental care or re evaluation asap.

Sometimes: Sometimes after a root canal there may be slight bleeding from the clamp that was put around the tooth during the root canal. Also called in dental terms a rubber dam, to keep the tooth dry during the proceedure. This however should have stopped within a half hour after you left the office. If it is continuing beyond this, please call the dentist or endodontist that performed this proceedure asap.

Some bleed: If the presenting infection was very advance, there can be bleeding but nothing that last more than 12-24 hours unless you are also taking Plavix (clopidogrel) or some other blood thinner. Even still, root canal is not generally a problem that has much bleeding associated with it once you leave the dentists office.

Yes: The gumline can bleed a little but if the tooth is bleeding from the center, that is a problem. Rinse with warm salt water for a few days to see if it resolves. If not, go back to your doctor to have it checked.

Yes, Sometimes: Where is the bleeding? If the tooth was infected and there was drainage of pus through a fistula in the gum, it may take several hours to days for the gum to heal. If the bleeding is from the local anesthesia injection site, it should stop oozing slight blood in a hour or so.
