Cut it: Very carefully though, if it is deep, you likely should see the podiatrist (if on foot) or dermatologist so that you don't cause an infection. Also, if it is deep you may need local anesthesia.

See below: Clip the edge of the nail back so it does not push into the skin. Soak the nail in warm water with epsom salt, apply an antiseptic and bandaid. Repeat several times a day. See a doctor if this does not resolve it.
