Finger infection: I don't recommend a potato. However, soaking in Epsom Salts can truly help. But be vigilant, finger infections are WORRISOME and can be difficult to cure without antibiotics. Apply antibiotic ointment too every 3 hours

Not too sure: I've never heard of using the potato tuber to draw out an infection. Traditonally the doctors will prescribe antibiotic pills or ointment to help fight the infection and possible soaks. Please get checked by your doctor to make sure we are dealing with just a minor infection.
