Depends on procedure: The exact risks depend on the procedure being performed, lasik/prk/lasek etc. For all, the rates of complications are extremely low. As with any surgery there is a risk of infection or excessive inflammation. See a refractive surgeon for a consultation to determine your personal risk profile.

Risk Involved: Lasik eye surgery is one of the safest procedures of its kind, with an excellent profile and success rate. Major complications after lasik are extremely rare, occurring in less than 1% of all patients. Most side effects are minor and can be easily resolved. Some risk are: dry eyes, undercorrection or overcorrection, temporary discomfort.

Depends: Laser is used to change the optical power of the eye (lasik or prk)_, but also used to treat glaucoma, retina vascular disease and some other problems of the eye. The risk varies with the site, the intensity of treatment and the overall health of the eye. Discuss with your treating ophthalmologist to get the full answer for what your needs are.
