Depends: There are 2 forms of injectable vitamin d. There is high dose of regular vitamin d and this has been shown to be less effective than taking a daily oral dose of 2000-5000 iu. There is also the injectable 'active' form of vitamin d, calcitriol, that is used for kidney disease and it should only be used for that purpose or it is potentially very toxic.
