Should i get my newborn vaccinated?

Absolutely : The diseases your child is vaccinated against can cause some serious problems. The problems these diseases have caused in the past have been forgotten. However, in instances when vaccination has been stopped, the diseases returned. An example of a recurring illness is the current outbreak of whooping cough.

Yes: After birth, a baby is given a hepatitis b vaccine. After that, routine vaccines are given at well baby check ups. These keep baby safe and healthy. There is a lot of misinformation about this topic out there, however the current immunization schedule is safe and effective.

Numbers matter: In the 90's when most parents vaccinated their kids, we had about 2500 cases/yr of pertussis and no deaths.Last year, with all the anti-vaccine scare tactics we had 40,000+ cases of pertussis and about 40 deaths, mostly in kids under 6 mo. The fact is, vaccines are safe and effective if used as recommended. The alternatives bring risks for the most vulnerable.
