My 6-year-old is coughing a lot and i don't know why. what should i do?

Get it checked out: All young children will experience some run-of-the-mill coughs/colds, more common in children attending daycare etc...Often, otc such as Robitussin and antihistamine such as Claritin (loratadine) (dry out the postnasal drip) for a few days will do the job. If high fever or the child appears sick, get checked by doc. If on-going cough for weeks, he/she may have asthma etc..So, cosult doc. Good luck.
