Fused/single organ.: Monochorionic twins are identical and can share one amniotic sac (monoamniotic - rare, 1% of all twins) or not (diamniotic, ~30% of all twins). In either case, only one placenta is present without (in monoamniotic) or with (in diamniotic) dividing membrane.
