Scars are permanent: Scars from stitches are permanent. Most scars get get thick and dark for three to six months, then get smaller and less noticeable, but never go away.

Scars are permanent: Are you talking about the marks left in the skin where the sutures were placed? If so it depends on how long the stitches were left in place. The earlier they can safely be removed the more likely they are to fade away. The scar from the cut and stitch marks from sutures may be permanent but you can help improve appearance by avoiding sun, massaging scar and using topical silicone.
