What is STM?: Short-term memory (stm) refers to the ability to remember info for about a minute. For example, if given a list of ten random digits to recall, you should be able to recall immediately about 7 digits (+/- 2). Stm is not a unified process. It is made up of attention, storage, search, and recall. If you are not paying attention to begin with, stm will be poor. Anxiety can also reduce stm.
