A member asked:

Had one grand mal seizure, i am on topamax (topiramate) would like to go off, has anyone else done this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Principles: Topamax (topiramate) is a modestly successful drug to prevent seizures, so that is in your favor. If you have been seizure free for over 2-3 yrs, your exam is normal, and EEG shows no seizure activity, you may well could slowly taper off your medication safely. But need to do under close supervision by your neurologist.
