Indirectly: The cold weather will not actually cause you to get sick, but your body has to use extra energy to try to keep you warm. Because of this your body has less resources to fight off germs and viruses which increases your risk of getting sick.

No: Cold weather can worsen a cold, but to get a cold requires exposure to the cold organism. Colds are more common in the winter because we are together inside for warmth which increases the chance to pass the virus from one person to another. The cold prolongs an infection once acquired which gives a more lengthy time for exposure as well.
