Surgery indications: Multiple infections like 3-4 every year or 5-6 in one year. Chronic infections, obstruction causing swallowing or breathing trouble (sleep apnea), or enlargement causing trouble with dental occlusion. Indications for adenoidectomy include above as well as nasal obstruction, chronic sinus or ear infections.

Indications for T&A: Indications for tonsillectomy with adenoidectomy include obstructive sleep apnea in children, recurrent tonsil and adenoid infections and suspicion of cancer.
