Partial ACL: Yes you can play with a partial acl tear but you should protect your knee with an acl specific brace. Your ability to play also depends on the percentage of your tear and how much muscle tone you have in the leg.

Probably: Partial and complete tears of the acl can also be associated with cartilage injury. If you have instability or other mechanical symptoms of catching or locking, persistent swelling, or joint line pain then high impact, twisting activities should probably be avoided. If symptoms persist, an MRI can help diagnose other internal knee injuries.
