People pleasing?: Only you know the specific answer to this question, for you. But some people become anxious in social situations because they want to be perceived in a certain way, and they're constantly on guard for fear of being "found out" as not being this way. They worry about what others are thinking of them, what impression they are making, rather than being interested in getting to know the others.

Do u avoid social...: ..situations? Do u fear embarrassing urself? Worry abt ppl in those situations judging u? U may have "social anxiety." People w/high levels of social anxiety find certain social situations and certain social interactions very uncomfortable & thus tend 2 actively avoid them. BUT for an expert diagnosis, consult a mental health professional. Anxiety associated w/various conditions.
