Telehealth: You might consider consulting with a professional via skype, at least for starters. Make sure the person is well-credentialed. He or she may direct you to some self help books or practices that can be effective for you. The very best to you.

Get a friend to help: If you are too anxious to ask for help yourself, ask a close friend to do it for you. If you can't make the call to schedule and appointment, a friend can do that for you. Before your appointment, familiarize yourself with the office and the staff. Call and ask questions about the provider, what the process is like, and what to expect. If you can have a friend attend, bring him/her along.
