A member asked:

What does the thyroid do for your body anyway?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sets metabolism: Thyroid hormone controls the basal rate at which your body functions. Too much leads to racing thoughts, tremor, high body temp, many bowel movements, feeling of being hot, insomnia, weight loss despite great appetite. Too little leads to the opposite.
