Multiple treatments: There are a number of ways to treat heel pain. Oral anti inflamatory medication, steroid injections, streaching, orthotics, ultasound, and physical therapy. It is best to see your podiatrist and have him diagnose and treat your heel pain.

Visit the doctor. : Podiatrists are well versed with heel pain. It is possible that you have plantar fascitiis. While, arch supports are an important component at times you may need an injection or further treatment. There also could be something else wrong like inflammation of a nerve or stress fracture of the heel or a partial tear of the fascia. Since, you used the word sore and not pain, likely fascitiis.
