Neurotransmitters: Chemicals in the brain called neurotransmitters activate parts of the brain responsible for dreaming while asleep. It is a normal phenomenon.

Dream: Sleep is an active state that happens as rem and non-rem. In rem sleep most of your brain functions are happening as usual and you can have emotions and percieve things i... However your input and output systems from cortex are disconnected ... Thats why with activation of different systems of memory, emotion etc you develop experiences that are all internal called dream.
