Depends on the cause: Ild comes in many subtypes - a few - especially those related to smoking or that have an hypersensitivity/allergic component can be reversed with the proper treatment. Unfortunately, the most common form of ild is not reversible. Seeing a pulmonary specialists is highly recommended for anyone diagnosed with ild.
