Variety: Mainly breathlessness (shortness of breath with exertion/activity). Some patients can also develop swelling of their fingernails known as clubbing (see photo).

Shortness of breath : Typically, interstitial lung disease causes shortness of breath. It can also cause low oxygen, weakness, fatigue, cough, wheezing. Or, it can cause no symptoms at all. There are numerous causes for this disorder, and some can be treated adequately. So, if you think you have ild, it is important to get checked out right away.
