A member asked:

I have a sharp stabbing pain in my right ear and a sore throat on right side?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Referred pain: The ear pain is most likely coming from the throat. The nerve supply to the ear is from a nerve that runs behind the tonsil. If there is a sore, (usually viral ) in that area it can cause ear pain. This is caused referred otoalgia or "ear- pain".
