Stretch: Do the "fist hand - flat hand" exercise. 1st open all your fingers until your hand fits flat on a table. Use your other hand to firmly press down to flatten your hand. 2nd make a fist as tight as you can, using your other hand to help. Do it for 1 minute in each position. Push hard enough to cause some tolerable pain. Repeat 5 times. You will note less "pain-of-stiffness" each time. Do 12 per day.

Finger stiffness: You can try a wrist guard and avoid pressure on your hands and wrists during sleep while waiting for the hand specialist appointment. I would also try oral anti-inflammatory meds in the meantime as well.

Warm soaks warm showers and exercises such as the classic hand six pack exercises especially working on making a full fist and working on flexing the joints fully remember warm to warm up at the beginning of the day and ice to cool down at the end of the day finally anti-inflammatories can be helpful too but remember to take them regular as too often people take them once in a while and when they don't work they stop always take anti- inflammatory medications with food and after consulting with your primary care a wrist guard was mentioned however sometimes restart it can actually make your fingers feel more swollen at the end of the evening when you're sleeping and actually accentuate stiffness so make sure the wrist guard is not too tight and maybe try city without for a few nights and see if he makes a difference finally volterra and jelson work well but be careful not to overuses as it still can be associated with complications.
