Not usually: The most common cause in a young female is costochondritis or inflammation of the chest wall. Other causes are puncture lung, pericarditis, pleural effusion & pleuritis. It should improved with anti inflammatory agents ( if not allergic), if shrt of breath or persist seek evaluation.
