White patches & rash: Babies commonly can have two types of yeast infections: thrush and diaper dermatitis. Thrush is a yeast infection in the mouth, and appears as white patches with a red base on the tongue and mouth. These can make it uncomfortable for your baby to feed. Diaper dermatitis is a bright red and scaly rash in round your baby's groin. Both infections are caused by a yeast or fungus called candida.

Red, blotchy rash: First off babies only get yeast on the outside, not inside like women do. Yeast, in babies, causes a beefy red blotchy rash in the diaper area. It's usually brighter red and worse than a regular diaper rash.
