A member asked:

The target cells for hiv are what?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

T helper cells: Hiv's primary cellular target are t helper cells. These white blood cells are not direct killers, but rather quarterbacks that coordinate the immune response. Hiv also infects other cell types although the primary cause of HIV pathogenicity is the effect on helper t cells.
