A member asked:

How do muscles use sugar for energy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

To make ATP!: The magical molecule which cells use to exert energy is called ATP (adenosine triphosphate). When cells break off one of the phosphorus molecules, energy is released which allow the cells to do their work. In the case of muscles, it's to produce actin and myosin, the proteins that work together to pull muscle fibers.
