Many reasons: There can be many causes for this to occur. Sometimes the age of the patient can lead to a likely cause, however all patients that have blood in bm should see a doctor or surgeon to determine the source.The young(hemorrhoids, polyps, fissures, inflamatory bowel diease), older( the same plus cancer.
