A member asked:

Why is it harder for adults to learn to walk a second time after an injury?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Aging sucks: Two reasons. In childhhod the brain and nerves are at their greatest potential and are naturally programmed for developing skills. In adulthood the brain is mostly programmed for survival. Add an injury to the picture and relearning an old skill becomes harder.
