What will be done in the er for a possible fractured elbow?

Xrays and a splint: Elbow fractures are diagnosed based on xrays of the elbow. Most fractures can be splinted and referred to an orthopaedic surgeon for treatment. Severe fractures may need to be seen and treated by an orthopaedic surgeon immediately.

X-rays & a splint.: The only way to know for sure if the elbow is broken is to get a x-ray. Once the x-ray had been performed you will be splinted and given a follow-up appointment with an orthopaedic surgeon. If the fracture is severe enough to require immediate attention, you may have to stay in the hospital for surgery.
