Difference: An internal medicine specialist can evaluate many aspects of a person's conditions such as heart, lungs, blood pressure, kidneys, etc. A gastroenterologist will have internal medicine training and additional specialty training in intestinal and liver disorders and perform endoscopy procedures too.
