Rather doubtful: Multiple myeloma can be confirmed through blood and urine studies and even analysis of bone marrow. Since MS is a disease of brain, spinal cord, and optic tracts, a disorder causing dysfunction in other organ systems would not create this type of confusion.

Unrelated conditions: MS is a disorder of the central nervous system. MM is a disorder of the bone marrow and is generally fatal after a few years.
