From bone marrow: Both originate from an early stem cell found in the bone marrow although the more mature lymphocytes later spend most of their life span outside of the bone marrow in lymph nodes, thymus and spleen.

Oftentimes: Sometimes chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) accelerates or turns to blast crisis (acute leukemia). Rarely chronic lymphoid leukemia transforms to more aggressive version as well.
