Very!: Kids acquire their peak bone mass during adolescence. To get the most benefit, diet should include enough vitamin d and calcium. Many people are vitamin d insufficient or worse. A daily vitamin and calcium supplements are recommended to those who need it. Sometimes extra vitamin d is given. Please discuss with your doctor to determine if your child is getting enough of these & other nutrients.
