Eye-rubbing baby: Irritated-looking eyes can be due to allergies and rubbing the nose does suggest both are itchy, which leans toward allergies. A family history also increases the chance the problem could be allergic. Eye rubbing can also mean pink eye, a viral infection of the membranes of the eyes. Otc antihistamine helps if allergy; if not, check with your pediatrician or family doctor to help narrow it down.
