Tinnitus=concussion: Tinnitus (ringing in ears) is one of the 'concussion symptoms'. The others are headache, dizzy, nausea, fatigue, amnesia and confusion. The signs and symptoms of a concussion can be subtle and may not be immediately apparent. Symptoms can last for days, weeks or even longer. Hope you are better soon!

Whiplash and tinnitu: That is very likely. Damage to the upper cervical facet joints in the spine during accident can cause inflammation and may cause irritation of the third occipital nerve leading to tinnitus. See a pain physician who is experienced in cervical radio frequency procedures. I have treated several pts. Referred by ENT surgeon for tinnitus who improved after rf of the third occipital nerve.

Yes: Aside from causes including irritation of the nerves of the ear and concussive effects, tight muscle in the neck can also cause these symptoms. A physiatrist can help sort through different causes and recommend other treatments/referrals as needed.
