How do bacteria become antibiotic resistance?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

They Adapt!: Antibiotic resistance is a type of drug resistance where the bacteria no longer are succeptible to the drug. This usually occurs when the microorganism mutates its dna to be able to "inactivate" the medication. This is a type of "natural selection" amoung the bacteria. This is a real threat to medicine today. The overuse of certain antibiotics has contributed to this.
