Arterial narrowing: Narrowing or occlusion of arteries outside the heart/coronaries. Most often referred to extremities arterial disease which is 80-90% in the lower extremities . Treatment includes lifestyle modification like stop smoking, medications/ aspirin, walking excercises, endovascular procedures like stenting , bypass surgeries or even amputation in extreme cases.

Yes it can.: Your arteries are normally smooth and unobstructed. Over time they can become blocked (atherosclerosis - hardening of the arteries). Plaque can build up in the walls of your arteries. Plaque is made up of cholesterol, calcium, and fibrous tissue. As more plaque builds up, your arteries narrow and stiffen. Eventually, enough plaque builds up to reduce blood flow and oxygen delivery. This is pvd.
