Plantar fasccitis is: The most common but not only cause. This is commonly treated by conservative measures, starting with orthotics, stretching, some form of therapy and frequently oral or injectable antiinflammatory medication. Rarely does a spur have to be removed. See a podiatrist to have it examined.

Plantar fascitiis: Plantar fascitiis if it is on the bottom , if in the back an achilles tendon or haglunds deformity. A stress fracture of the heel or less likely but possible a bone tumor. If you get pain to the heel on the first few steps after resting likely plantar fascitiis. Icing of the heel, limiting walking while pain is severe, a old arch support, an antiinflammatory are all good ideas.

Many possible causes: Heel pain is most often caused by plantar fasciitis, a condition that is sometimes also called heel spur syndrome when a spur is present. Heel pain may also be due to other causes, such as infection, tendonitis, arthritis, stress fracture, nerve irritation, retained foreign body, bone tumor, or a cyst. Have it evaluated by a professional and get the appropriate treatment.
