A member asked:

Is pencillin a hapten instead of a antigen?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Read: Penicillin is a chemical compound which has areas on its molecule which are haptenic. The drug itself is considered an antigen. Altering the molecule to create derivatives seldom alters the haptenic component.
