Chronic Condition: Endometriosis is a chronic female condition where parts of the uterine lining (endometrium) sheds through the tubes and implants in the pelvic cavity. The result is no symptoms, to chronic pain, to difficulty conceiving, to pelvic masses. It is estimated that endometriosis occurs in 6–10% of women, presenting in the early reproductive years. Laparoscopy at times is used for diagnosis.
