Biggest risk is age: The biggest risk for developing alzheimer's disease is age. So countries where people live longer tend to have more alzheimer's disease. However, there may be other factors because the rate is higher in african-americans than in some africans (in africa) of equivalent age. It may also actually be more common in minorities in us, but this is being investigated.
