Complicated Answer: Azole refers to a 5 sided aromatic ring and curiously many varying drugs have such a ring. Fluconazole is used to treat fungal infections. Omeprazole is an acid reducing medication. Mycin was an older term assoc. With antibiotics. Vibramycin (doxycycline) is a varient of tetracycline. Vancomycin, a powerful antibiotic used against resistant staph is a unique drug totally unrelated to tetracycline.
